Reclaimed Wood Signs that are Perfect for Summer

Well it's June 1st, 2020... we can all agree that this year has been rough, but going into this summer it got even more difficult. I can't not acknowledge what's going on in our country right now. Summertime is always so light-hearted and fun, relaxing but also adventurous; it now feels very heavy and uncertain.

My heart breaks for all the hurt that people are experiencing right now, and so to share about my happy, summer signs feels very weird and off to me. I want you to know that I've had major analysis paralysis lately on just about everything. I never want to appear insensitive to what's currently going on, and at the same time I want to bring some happy in other's lives. That's just kind of how I am. I've endured some painful situations in my life and I can only feel sad for so long before I choose to take the positive path. Feelings can only get us so far before we have to place one foot in front of the other with action.

So what can I control right now? I can't control the health and well-being of everyone I know, but I can control my self-responsibility to others regarding taking certain health measures and precautions. I can't control other people's business struggles, but I can give generously, shop local, support and promote small businesses. I can't control evil people in the world, but I can always pray and show love to others with not just words but action.

I can have conversations with my children about how every human being is precious to God and that we treat everyone how we would want to be treated. We live in a fallen world, but I'm choosing to have hope. Because having hope might be the only thing I'll ever be able to control. So I'm going to list these summer signs, even in the midst of an environment that feels anything but happy. But I want to share some hope with you, all while I know how it's received is out of my control. My hope is that it might brighten your day, and you give a bit of hope as well.
